Moraga Triathlon

The 9th Annual Moraga Triathlon is coming back to town on April 25th! Make sure to secure your spot at the event, since the 300 spots are expected to sell out, thanks to the growing awareness of the event in the Lamorinda area.

You have the choice to register for the event as either an individual, or as part of a relay team. If you are planning on making the 9th Annual Moraga Triathlon your first triathlon, or just want to be better prepared, keep these triathlon training tips in mind.

  1. Start short – before you try to run, bike, and swim the entire length of the course, start out with much shorter distances, and build up to the real distance. Try to reach the full distance of the course a few times before the actual race day to make sure that you are ready.
  2. Invest in the right running shoes – you will be running a long distance, which means that you will need shoes that will hold up. If you are planning on buying a new pair, make sure to wear them in before race day to help avoid serious blisters.
  3. Swim suits and goggles are fine – the swim portion of the triathlon will be taking part in the Soda Aquatic Center pool, so do not worry if you do not have a wetsuit. Make sure to wear a comfortable swim suit that will stay put over the 400 meters, and have goggles that will help to keep your vision clear.
