On Saturday, the 12th of April, plan to visit the exciting premier of "Lafayette’s Dogtown Downtown". This event is geared toward dog lovers and there will be contests, demonstrations, adoptions, and informative lectures. Bring your family and your friendly dog, leashed, to the library grounds.

Lafayette’s Dogtown Downtown will be held at the Lafayette Library & Learning Center located at 3491 Mount Diablo Boulevard.  Easy to find, the library is at the heart of Lafayette at the corner of Mount Diablo and First Street.  Please plan to spend the day enjoying the antics of Lafayette’s beloved dogs; Dogtown events begin at 10 o’clock in the morning and will last all afternoon.

Dog competitions promise to be highly entertaining and exhilarating. There will be demonstrations by service dogs and K-9 police dogs and their handlers. Pet adoptions will be open to qualifying individuals and families, and representatives for animal rescue groups will be available. The various lectures that will be provided include canine health topics such as first aid and behavior problems.

Lectures will be presented by credible sources including veterinary and emergency care specialists. There is much information to acquire at this canine event and lots of activities for the entire community to enjoy. This first-time event promised to be memorable and possibly repeated on an annual basis. Participate in this wonderful Dogtown Downtown event and share the love of dogs with friends and neighbors.
