Stern Grove Festival

The Stern Grove Festival is here! As one of the most popular San Francisco events of the year, you and your family will not want to miss out on this exciting event that started on June 14th and runs through August 16th.

Every Sunday at 2 p.m., there will be a free concert in the park, which will last two to three hours. The concerts are very popular, so make sure to get there early to get a good spot. The full schedule through the rest of the festival goes as follows:

  • June 21st – Pacific Mambo Orchestra with Sheila E and Marlow Rosado Salsamania
  • June 28th – Randy Newman, Hot Club of San Francisco
  • July 5th – San Francisco Symphony, Edwin Outwater, Conductor
  • July 12th – Amy Hanaiali’i and the Stern Grove Festival Orchestra, Halau ‘o Keikiali’i
  • July 19th – tUnE-yArDs, DakhaBrakha
  • July 26th – San Francisco Ballet, Halgi Tomasson, Artistic Director
  • August 2nd – Mary Chapin Carpenter, Bhi Bhiman
  • August 9th – Morris Day and The Time, Con Brio
  • August 16th – Talib Kweli, Zakiya Harris featuring Elephantine

There are very few amenities that are available at the concerts, so consider bringing these items with you to fully enjoy the festival.

  • Camping chairs or blankets – bring something to sit on since no seating is provided. If you are going to bring a chair, make sure that it is a low chair to allow everyone to get a good view of the show.
  • Food and drinks – while there is a small café that is on site, they will only be serving a limited amount of food and drinks, so consider packing your own picnic. You are even allowed to bring beer and wine to the festival!
  • Warm clothes – the temperatures can get cool during the show, so make sure to dress appropriately.
