Fall asleep and wake up at the same time every day. That way your body gets used to a sleep pattern and you’ll be able to get a more restful night’s sleep.

Limit your nap time.

Napping can affect your ability to get a good night’s sleep. While it may give you an extra boost of energy through the day, it offsets your ability to fall asleep at night. Try to avoid napping but if you must take a nap make it short. A quick 30-minute nap can give you the little boost you need, without interrupting your nighttime sleep. Just be sure not to nap too close to bedtime.

Create the right sleep environment.

Make sure that your bedroom is a relaxing environment. The best temperature to get a good night’s sleep is around 65 degrees. Be sure to have a firm mattress and comfortable pillows. Lastly, make it a rule to keep electronics out of the bedroom. Your television, smartphone, and laptop all emit light that keeps your brain awake. Make sure to keep them in another room or turn them off before bed.
