Burton Valley Elementary School PTA Sponsored Blood & Bone Marrow Drive

You can help save a life this season! The Burton Valley Elementary School PTA Sponsored Blood & Bone Marrow Drive on October 9th, is the perfect time to give back to those in need and help change someone’s life for the better. The blood and marrow drive will take place in the Multi-purpose room at Burton Valley Elementary in Lafayette, California from 8:15 a.m. until 1:15 p.m.

To schedule your appointment to give blood, simply go online and enter the Sponsor Code BURTON. You can also call 1-800 RED CROSS to schedule your appointment or for any questions you have about the blood donation process. Each student who recruits a donor to the event will receive a free slap watch while supplies last.

The event is the perfect place to join the Bone Marrow Registry. Donors who are 18 to 44 years of age and are in general good health can simply get their cheek swabbed and fill out the paperwork to be entered into the Be The Match Bone Marrow Registry. The National Bone Marrow Donor Program is the largest and most diverse bone marrow registry in the world. A simple cheek swab is all it takes to find out if you can save the life of someone suffering from a life-threatening blood cancer such as lymphoma or leukemia.
