2016 Moraga Pear and Wine Festival

Check out the Moraga Pear and Wine Festival!

There’s nothing that pairs quite as well with wine as cheese and fruit. However, perhaps one of the best fruits to pair with wine is pears. Sweet, yet full of earthy notes, pears have an incredible ability to help bring out unique flavors in a glass of wine. Try your hand at wine tasting and pear eating, and celebrate your love of food and wine at the Moraga Pear and Wine Festival.

Moraga Pear and Wine Festival

Where: Moraga Commons Park

Time: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Believe it or not, the city of Moraga has a long history of pear cultivation. With nearly 200 years of growing these fruits, it’s no wonder that pears have their own festival in Moraga. In its 18th year, the Moraga Pear & Wine Festival has become a staple in the Contra Costa community.

Complete with all sorts of pear dishes, a pear recipe contest, pear pies, wine tasting with the Lamorinda Wine Growers Association, live music, local artists, and activities for the kids, it’s a great event for residents and visitors of all ages.

Enjoy good food year-round all throughout Contra Costa County. Local restaurants and festivals offer you the opportunity to support your community.
